Often bearing the subtitle Christians in Conservation, A Rocha (a Portuguese word meaning “the Rock”) is one of the world’s most well-established international conservation agencies. National chapters can be found in many countries, including the US and Canada. For local believers who want to roll up their sleeves and contribute practically to conservation efforts, local chapters of A Rocha are a great place to start. Eden Vigil workers are helping start a local chapter in Manhattan, KS.

All creation care advocates owe a debt of gratitude to the Evangelical Environmental Network ( EEN ) which has done so much to help launch a Creation Care movement within the Church. One should also explore the Evangelical Climate Initiative, ECI, of which Lowell Bliss, director of Eden Vigil is now a signatory.

Dr. Matthew and Nancy Sleeth write some of the most readable books on Creation Care. That ease of use is also evident in Blessed Earth’s highly-practical and inspirational website. Their mission statement reads: “Blessed Earth is an educational nonprofit that inspires and equips faith communities to become better stewards of the earth. Through outreach to churches, campuses and media we build bridges that promote measurable environmental change and meaningful spiritual growth.”
